ANNOUNCEMENT: New Training Opportunity!

Announcing a special training opportunity – FROM WERC To Work. This special 5-week WERCShop focuses entirely on helping you to find the job of your dreams!

We’ll focus on computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel, customer service, interview skills and preparation, and job searching.  At the end of the training, Working Solutions is sponsoring a job fair that will include businesses that are seeking workers with the specific skills we are teaching. Here’s the scoop:

Starts October 31 to December 1

Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

2016 WERC Awards Luncheon

DSCN3301-1024Thank you, Thank you, Thank You… to our sponsors and everyone who attended and supported our 2016 Awards Luncheon! It was a great success and an important fundraiser that helps support the services we provide.

The women we serve can best express the results of the training and one-on-one assistance WERC provides – here is an example of one of the comments we received: “I want to thank you for your great job helping women to prepare for successful employment placement. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to participate in the Professional Pathways training. I found a job the same day I graduated from the training. I had a few job interviews before the training that did not have a positive outcome. However, after all the preparation and practice during the class, I was able to feel more confident and secure for the job interview, and as a result, I got the job. On top of that, the computer class was the best. I utilize the computer skills I learned every day in my new job. I hope your program continues to help many women like me to get back in the workforce. – Cristiana

Well, there are banners on display in front of the Radisson Hotel on Genesee Street, and many posters hanging in Franklin Square. The project features some of the downtown businesses and non-profits that are helping to infuse energy, creativity and enthusiasm into our city. WERC and our Executive Director, Stephanie Eghigian, are honored – go check it out!

WERC is the first step in the long, arduous journey to lasting change. When a woman seeks assistance through WERC, they are no longer alone. We become their coach, helping them navigate and eliminate obstacles as they successfully chart a course from modest goals to big dreams. WERC seeks to have all women in need of work employed in a career which gives them satisfaction and respect.
